Air it out the first evening
Leave the windows down an inch in the garage so the dressing and any damp carpet dry fully.

If we left them out to dry, put them back only when the underside is dry so nothing mildews.

Keep a towel in the door
Spills wiped the same day never become stains. The dressing we put on makes the plastics easy to wipe.
