Suburban Water Systems serves La Mirada from local wells and treated surface water, and its 2025 report puts total hardness at 12.5 grains per gallon in the groundwater and 13.8 in the surface water. Its own FAQ explains the white residue water leaves when it dries: that is the hardness. A car parked by the lawn gets hit every morning. Seal the paint and the water beads off before it dries.
