What you get with ceramic coating

  • Wash, iron remover and clay bar
  • Paint correction first if the paint needs it
  • Panel wipe so nothing sits under the coating
  • Coating applied panel by panel and leveled by hand
  • Trim and glass options
  • Cure instructions and the first-wash date

The visit, in three frames

Ceramic Coating at your driveway, in the order it happens.

  1. Panel wipe and microfiber on a glossy black hood in a home garage before coating

Step 1: Prep: wash, clay, correct

The coating locks in whatever is under it, so the paint is cleaned, clayed, corrected and wiped down first.

  2. Suede applicator block spreading ceramic coating in a crosshatch on a black door under a work light

Step 2: Coat panel by panel

The coating goes on in a crosshatch with a suede applicator and flashes a rainbow as it bonds.

  3. Plush microfiber leveling ceramic coating on a black hood under a handheld inspection light

Step 3: Level, then let it cure

Each panel is leveled under a light before it sets. Then the car stays dry while the coating hardens.

What a coating does for a Norwalk car

Sun, sprinkler water, bird droppings and freeway film sit on top of the coating instead of in the clear coat, so they rinse off instead of etching in. The paint stays glossy and slick for years rather than the months a sealant gives. Dark cars that live outside near Ramona Park or Hermosillo Park are where the difference shows most.

How we apply it

Wash, iron remover, clay bar, then paint correction if the paint needs it, then a panel wipe so nothing is between the coating and the clear coat. The coating goes on panel by panel and is leveled by hand. It needs a dry place to cure and a few days without washing; we go over that when we book.

What it costs and what changes it

The size of the vehicle, how much correction the paint needs first, and the coating chosen. Final pricing is determined after inspection. Send a photo of the hood in the sun to (562) 341-8939 for a straight answer before you book.

Is ceramic coating what your car needs?

Book this when

  • A new or freshly corrected car you want protected for years
  • A car that lives outside and takes sun, sprinklers and freeway film
  • You want washes to take half the time

Pick something else when

  • The paint has swirls, oxidation or etched spots: correction comes first
  • You want scratch protection: that is paint protection film, which is a different product
  • You are not sure you need years: the sealant in our packages may be enough

After we leave: how to keep it that way

  1. No water for the first days

We give you the date of the first wash. Sprinklers and rain in the first days leave marks in the curing layer.

  2. Wash gently, dry fully

A two-bucket wash or touchless, then a drying towel. The coating makes it fast.

  3. Rinse bird droppings and sap quickly

A coating resists them. It does not make them harmless if they bake on for a week.

Ceramic Coating questions from Norwalk drivers

How long does a ceramic coating last in Norwalk?

Years, not months, when the paint is prepped properly and the car gets normal washes. The Norwalk sun and hard water are exactly what a coating is for; the coating takes that abuse instead of the clear coat.

Can you ceramic coat a car in my driveway?

Yes. We prep and coat at your Norwalk home or work. Shade or a garage is best for the cure, and we plan the day around the weather.

Does a coating stop scratches?

No. It resists chemical etching, UV and light marring, and it makes washing safer. Rock chips and keys still scratch; that is what paint protection film is for.

Do I still need to wash it?

Yes, but less often and much faster. Dirt does not bond to a coated surface the way it does to bare clear coat.

Want years of protection instead of months?
