What you get with engine bay cleaning

  • Electrical parts covered before any water
  • Degreaser on the covers, hoses and the bay
  • Brushes in the corners
  • Low-pressure rinse, nothing blasted
  • Dried, then plastics and hoses dressed
  • Done at your driveway, hood open

The visit, in three frames

Engine Bay Cleaning at your driveway, in the order it happens.

  1. Hood open on a sedan, plastic sheeting laid over the fuse box and alternator before cleaning

Step 1: Cover the sensitive parts

Fuse box, alternator, intake and exposed connectors get covered before a drop of water goes in.

  2. Long-handled brush scrubbing degreaser foam over a plastic engine cover, rinse spray in the other hand

    Step 2: Degrease and rinse

Degreaser sits, brushes work the grime out of the covers and corners, then a gentle rinse.

  3. Satin dressing wiped onto a clean black engine cover, the whole bay clean and dry

    Step 3: Dry and dress

Blown dry, then a satin dressing on the plastics and hoses so it looks new, not wet.

When to clean an engine bay

Before you sell or trade the car, because a clean bay reads as a cared-for car. After a summer of dust from the freeways and the Santa Ana winds. When leaves pack into the cowl under the windshield near the wipers, which happens under the older trees around Holifield Park. Or because you open the hood and do not like what you see.

How we do it safely

The alternator, fuse box, air intake and exposed connectors are covered first. Then a degreaser, light agitation with brushes, a low-pressure rinse, drying with air, and a dressing on the plastics and hoses. No pressure washer blasted at a running engine, ever.

At your driveway in Norwalk

It takes a modest amount of water and a place to let it drain, so a driveway or a work lot near Cerritos College is ideal. Add it to a Exterior Detail or a Full Detail and we do it while the paint dries.

Is engine bay cleaning what your car needs?

Book this when

  • Dust and leaves have built up under the hood
  • The car is going up for sale and the buyer will look
  • An oil or coolant spill left a mess on the covers

Pick something else when

  • There is an active leak: clean it after the repair, or the mess is back next week
  • A classic with exposed wiring and carburetors: tell us the year first, and we plan for it
  • The rest of the car needs it too: the Exterior Detail with the bay added

After we leave: how to keep it that way

  1. Let it idle a few minutes

Heat finishes the drying in the spots a towel cannot reach.

  2. Look again in a week

If the covers are oily again, that is a leak worth showing a mechanic.

  3. A quick wipe keeps it

A dry microfiber over the covers every oil change keeps the bay looking like this.

Engine Bay Cleaning questions from Norwalk drivers

Is it safe to clean a car engine bay?

Yes, when the electronics are covered and the water is kept low-pressure. That is how engine bay cleaning is done at your Norwalk driveway; we never spray a hot engine or a bare fuse box.

Does it help resale?

It helps the car read as cared-for. Buyers and dealers lift the hood, and a clean bay with dressed plastics makes a better first impression.

Can it be done on a hybrid or EV?

Yes, with extra care around the high-voltage components, which we leave covered and dry.

Selling the car, or just tired of the dust under the hood?
